I was introduced a few years ago to the amazing healing powers of Turmeric Root and since then I have been consistent in making Turmeric Tea a daily ritual.
The turmeric plant or Curuma Longa, is a native of South Asia and Indonesia. turmeric root or rhizomes have been used for thousands of years as a medicine in China, India and in Ayurvedic Healing.
Why Turmeric? The active ingredient in Turmeric is called curcumin which has been found to provide a list of wonderful effects:

It’s a skin tonic and improves such skin conditions as psoriasis and eczema

Strengthens ligaments and speeds up the healing of wounds
It’s a blood purifier and has blood thinning properties
Lowers cholesterol and inhibits the oxidation of LDL
Improves digestion, heals stomach ulcers and helps prevent bloating and gas

Slows the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease by removing amyloid plaque buildup in the brain

**If you are pregnant or nursing then please consult your physician before implementing turmeric in your diet for medicinal purposes. Seek your physicians advice if wishing to implement in a child’s diet. Avoid turmeric if you have gallstones or bile obstruction.

For added taste *Optional: I like to add the same amount of ginger root (peeled as well)

I really enjoy reading this post. Turmeric is used in most of my meals. However, I use the powdered form of seasoning. Does this version give the same affect as the turmeric root? Also, I’m a fan of ginger beer, ginger candy or crystallized ginger.

I have a favorite tea I love to make. Apparently it’s an Ayurvedic recipe called “Golden Milk.” It’s beautiful and delicious:
Turmeric and Cardamom powder steeped. Add coconut milk/almond/soy or regular milk. Add a bit of honey to sweeten or agave. I sometimes put a slight drop of almond oil in and use my hand blender to froth it up like a latte.
Try it! It’s so yummy and warming.
I too am a huge fan of turmeric. I have turned inflammation around with its use.

Brilliant! Thank you for sharing this, Turmeric is also great for soothing sore throats. It is one of the world’s most powerful natural antiseptics. Use 1 or 2 teaspoons of turmeric with 1 or 2 tablespoons of honey in a cup and mix into a paste. Take last thing at night before you sleep and try not to eat or drink anything afterwards as the paste will line your throat all night. Repeat as required. And, yes, use regularly in your diet. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my posts, I’m new to blogging so it means a lot! Bless

I’ve been taking tumeric every day for six months. I have not noticed any differences in inflammation, but hope it will help fight the spread of uterine cancer.
